Plateosaurus is an genus of plateosaurid sauropodomorph from the Late Triassic (late Norian and Rhaetian of Europe. There are two species; P.engelhardti (the type) and P.gracilis.

In Real Life

Plateosaurus was a large creature for the Triassic, at about 8 meters (26 feet) long and 700 kg (1,500 lbs) in weight. It was likely an omnivore, using it's elongated neck to feed on higher vegetation then other herbivores. It's teeth were pointed and peg-like.

It has been debated for centuries how Plateosaurus moved; current scientific consensus is that it was an obligate biped; it's wrists are unable to pronate, suggesting it couldn't walk on it's hands.
