Lakes are quite important biomes as they are the only known sources of fresh water.

It is either a large or small body of water that serves weary travelers as a resting spot and a place to drink. Animals of all kind, predator and prey, come to drink and rest together in peace and not hurting each other, not to unlike the gathering of animals at watering holes in the dry savannas of Africa and Asia. Lakes aren't always the paradise they seem to be though, for a Deinosuchus may be waiting in the water just itching for an unaware victim to come close to the water. They are also rich in fish for aquatic hunters like Austroraptor hunt and eat.
